At Abeno Printing Co., Ltd., we place great importance on the continuous development of workplace communication and teamwork skills, especially in today’s fast-paced business environment, where seamless coordination across departments is essential to success.
To promote operational excellence aligned with Japanese corporate standards, we organized an in-house training session titled:
“HoRenSo for Effective Internal Communication” for employees across all departments.
What is HoRenSo?
HoRenSo (報・連・相) is a well-known communication framework widely adopted in Japanese businesses. The term is an acronym for:
- Houkoku (報告) – Reporting progress or work results to supervisors
- Renraku (連絡) – Relaying necessary information to relevant stakeholders
- Soudan (相談) – Seeking consultation, sharing insights, and making decisions together
Rather than merely focusing on reporting, HoRenSo encourages open information exchange, collaborative problem-solving, and mutual understanding within teams. It serves as a foundational approach to structured teamwork, helping to minimize misunderstandings and communication breakdowns in the workplace.
Training Content and Atmosphere
The training program combined an informative lecture on Japanese workplace culture with interactive workshops and scenario-based simulations. Participants engaged in practical applications of HoRenSo principles, addressing common workplace issues such as delayed reporting, lack of inter-team communication, and isolated decision-making.
The session fostered an enthusiastic and cooperative environment, deepening everyone’s understanding of their roles and responsibilities. It also contributed to a transparent, well-structured, and participatory organizational culture.
Toward Sustainable Organizational Growth
The “HoRenSo for Effective Communication” training is a reflection of Abeno Printing’s commitment to holistic development. We are not only dedicated to delivering high-quality print products, but also to building a strong internal culture that promotes personal growth, cross-functional collaboration, and long-term team sustainability.
